Options for MCPS Students
As a Montgomery County Public School student, there are many dual enrollment options available to you. Students from 9th to 12th grade may enroll at MC and take just one course or enough to earn a college degree while still in high school.
Here are your options:
Early College Program
What is offered:
- Fifteen associate degree programs
- Students are fulltime at MC in their Junior and Senior year of HS
- Take all college classes on one of MC’s campuses
Who is Eligible:
- Qualifying HS Juniors and Seniors
- Must meet HS GPA requirement of 2.75
- Must assess at the college ready level for appropriate degree program
- Must complete required HS courses prior to the fall of Junior year.
- Must attend all orientation and college prep sessions prior to the fall of Junior year.
When do you apply:

Middle College Programs
MC2 at Clarksburg, Northwest and Northwood HS
What is offered:
- Four associate degree programs
- Students stay at their home HS and enroll at MC while also taking HS courses to complete their degree.
- Students take college classes offered at HS site, online and on campus
Who is Eligible:
- Qualifying students entering HS
- Must meet HS GPA requirement of 2.75 by the start of their Sophomore year
- Must assess at the college ready level for appropriate degree program
- Must complete required HS courses prior to the fall of Sophomore year.
- Must attend all orientation and college prep sessions prior to the fall of Sophomore year.

Virtual Middle College
What is offered:
- Seven associate degree programs
- Students stay at their home HS and enroll at MC ONLINE while also taking HS courses to complete their degree.
- Students take college classes offered entirely online.
Who is Eligible:
- Qualifying students entering HS
- Must meet HS GPA requirement of 2.75 by the start of their Sophomore year
- Must assess at the college ready level for appropriate degree program
- Must complete required HS courses prior to the fall of Sophomore year.
- Must attend all orientation and college prep sessions prior to the fall of Sophomore year.

Jumpstart to College
What is Offered:
- Students may enroll in a choice of over 400 individual college courses
- Students may take class on campus, online or at a HS site where appropriate.
Who is Eligible:
- Must meet HS GPA requirement of 2.5 as a senior or 2.75 as an underclass student.
- Must assess at the college ready level in reading to take any class
- Must meet the assessment level and prerequisite for any class requested.
When do you apply:
- There is no admissions application, however, students request a course for each term separately
- Must meet all admission and enrollment requirements prior ot the first day of class.
