- There are many types of holds that Montgomery College uses which may prevent Registration.
The type of hold determines who you call. If you contact:
- Raptor Central at 240-567-5000,
- Accounts Receivable at acctrec@montgomerycollege.edu or
- visit a cashier, they can tell you the type of hold which is on the account.
- Three holds are specific to Accounts Receivable: CA or Cashier hold, DA or Delinquent Account hold, and CL which is our collections hold. If you have a CA hold it means that you have an outstanding balance but it is less than $250.00. A CA hold does not prevent future registration. A DA hold means that you have a balance of $250.00 or more and it prevents future registration. You will need to pay your balance down to below $250.00 in order for the hold to be lifted. A CL hold means that your account has been sent to collections after three paper notices were sent to your home address on your MC student record. A CL hold prevents registration and is in place until you contact the Maryland state collection unit to pay the debt in full. For more information on collections visit Accounts in Collection on Payment Options for Credit Coursesnew window.
- Please note: if you have an outstanding balance, Accounts Receivable cannot alter, remove, reduce, or forgive a balance.
