Biology Department
The Biology Department at the Rockville Campus offers a wide array of courses to meet the needs of life science majors, pre-professional school students, non-science majors, and opportunities to gain research experience. For students requiring a lab science for general education purposes, we offer General Biology and Environmental Biology. For science majors and pre-professional school students, we offer Principles of Biology I, II and III, Ecology, Principles of Genetics, Molecular Cell Biology, Microbiology and Anatomy and Physiology I and II. Each of these courses has a laboratory (or Discussion) component that includes state of the art equipment, educational media and exercises that touch on the most current concepts in Biology.
In addition, we offer non-lab courses such as Nutrition, Understanding Viruses, Natural Science of the Chesapeake Bay and Marine Environmental Science. We also offer a variety of Distance Learning courses.
