Graduation
Students nearing completion of a degree or certificate program may apply for graduation.
Note: If you have submitted a graduation application for the next term, then you should not submit additional applications, unless they are for different certificates or associates. If you applied for graduation and did not graduate, you will need to reapply for the next semester.

Graduation Application Process
Step 1: Verify your curriculum information in My MC
- Log-in to MyMC.
- Navigate to "Student Services" card.
- Click on the "Apply for Graduation" link.
- Click 'Degree Evaluation"
Your "Curriculum Information" will display. Make sure your Program (major/curriculum) and Catalog Year are correct.
- If not correct, submit a Curriculum Change Form (PDF, ) to the Office of Records and Registration on any campus.
- If correct, click "Generate New Evaluation" and continue.
Step 2: Submit the Online Graduation Application in My MC
If you have met the following graduation requirements, you are eligible to submit an Online Graduation Application:
- For Degree Seekers: 15 earned hours at Montgomery College, 36 overall earned hours (excluding AELP courses) and a GPA of 2.00. If you are in the AAT program, you will need a minimum GPA of 2.75.
- For Certificate Seekers: 6 earned hours at Montgomery College, 9 overall earned hours (excluding AELP courses) and a GPA of 2.00.
Please note: Health Science students may have additional requirements; consult program coordinator.
- Log-in to MyMC.
- Navigate to "Student Services".
- Click on the icon labeled "Apply for Graduation".
- Click "Online Graduation Application".
Step 3: If you have additional credits from another college or university, send official transcript(s) to your home campus:

Step 4: Bring your official degree evaluation to meet with your counselor, advisor or health science coordinator
After your application has been submitted, the graduation coordinator on your campus will conduct an official degree evaluation to determine eligibility for graduation. You will receive a letter in 2-3 weeks informing you about your graduation status. It may take 3-4 weeks to receive a letter informing you about your graduation status if it is the time of year in which MC is certifying graduates. When you receive your official degree evaluation, bring it your counselor, advisor or health science coordinator to discuss remaining degree requirements, career and transfer options.
F1 students: Check item 5 on your I-20 to ensure your graduation and "complete studies no later than" dates match. See an International Student Coordinator if they do not match.
Multiple Degrees
To be awarded a second Associates degree at Montgomery College, a student must earn a minimum of fifteen additional credits unique to the new program of study beyond the first degree and meet all other graduation requirements. All additional credits must be earned at the College.
In all cases, to be awarded a second Associates degree, a student must earn a minimum of seventy-five credits.
Commencement
To participate in the commencement ceremony, you should be a summer or fall graduate or have submitted a graduation application for spring. Find out more.
Diplomas and Certified Electronic Credentials
Certified Electronic Diplomas and Certificates (CeDiploma/CeCertificate)
Industries have recognized the need to securely receive your important credentials. An eDiploma will do just that. There are many different types of eDiplomas, but none have the unique features of the CeDiploma or CeCertificate, which are the cornerstones for acceptability.

A: By June 28, the notation of your degree/certificate obtainment will appear on your official
transcript. You can check the status of your graduation application through your MyMCnew window portal under Graduation Application, or by viewing your unofficial transcript.
Q: When should I expect to receive my diploma/certificate?
A: Sometime towards the end of August 2024. Email notifications will be sent through your MC student email about delivery of your diplomas/certificates.
Q: How will I receive my diploma/certificate?
A: Diplomas/certificates will be mailed to your address on file with the college. If
your address has changed, please notify the Graduation Coordinator at the campus where
your graduation application was processed to ensure diploma delivery.
Q: When will I get information about commencement?
A: Information will be sent to your MC student email by the first week of April 2024. Applying for graduation does not automatically sign you up to participate in the
May 2024 commencement ceremony.
Q: What should I do if I did not successfully complete my graduation requirements
in the spring 2024 semester?
A: You will need to re-apply for graduation for the semester that you plan to complete
the remaining curriculum requirements.
