Become a faculty tutor! Each semester, the WRLC hires part time, full-time, and retired Montgomery College faculty as tutors. Faculty tutors provide tutoring from week three through week 15 during the fall and spring semesters. If you are interested  in tutoring in the WRLC, please fill out the appropriate form below:

Tutoring

The WRLC offers virtual and in-person tutoring support to students during the fall, spring, and summer sessions. Please look on our home page for our hours of operation and more information.

Student Referral Program 

Faculty may refer struggling students to the WRLC during the first half of the semester. Student referrals usually meet with a tutor once a week over the course of the semester. To refer a student please complete the following request form: https://forms.office.com/r/7cwTpX67Bunew window.

Please note: The number of referral students accepted each semester is based on tutor availability.

Workshops

We offer workshops on various topics in the fall and spring semesters. All workshops are live streamed via Zoom (click here for the Zoom link). Please visit the Spring 2024 Workshop Schedule (PDF, ) for more information. Faculty may request specific workshops or ask for a tutor to present a workshop in their class via Zoom or in person by emailing wrlc.tpss.general@montgomerycollege.edu. Please provide a month’s notice so that we have ample time to prepare for your workshop.

Orientations

If you would like a WRLC representative to come to your class and speak to your students about our services, please complete the following request form: https://forms.office.com/r/CaxN1L4h1Qnew window. 

During orientations, we cover WRLC policies and procedures, tutoring signup through Accudemia, and optionally MyEnglishLab setup. If you have specific requests, we can tailor orientations to best fit the needs of your class.

Please provide students with the following to bring to their appointments:

• Assignment sheets or clear written instructions, and/or
• Written feedback that the student can share with their tutor
