TRIO Programs at Montgomery College
Programs at a glance
The Federal TRIO Programs (TRIO) are Federal outreach and student services programs designed to identify and provide services for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. Students enrolled in today's TRiO programs mirror our nation's multicultural and multiethnic society.
One-on-One
TRiO staff have an opportunity to work one-on-one with each student. TRiO professionals get to know each student on a first name basis. TRiO staff are personally committed to the success of their students.
Reality Based
Like their students, many TRiO professionals had to overcome class, social, disability, and academic and cultural barriers to succeed in higher education. As a result, they can effectively relate to their students and know how to motivate young people and adults in spite of the obstacles that often discourage first generation students.

What TRiO Students are saying about the program
Our resource room and TRiO computer lab is a great studying environment and very accessible;

Advising appointments and workshops really helped during my time at MC . The advising
appointments have made me feel more involved in how I was choosing my classes to fulfill
my major and the life skills workshops have truly helped in my classes and in my personal
life ”

TRiO office is like a second home to me. The support system is great; students are
