Mr. Marcus E. Peanort

Marcus E. Peanort's primary responsibilities include leading the Germantown Campus Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT), enforcing the Student Code of Conduct (SCOC), and providing support to Student Affairs departments at the Germantown Campus, and assisting the Collegewide Dean of Student Access with projects related to the Assessment Centers, Enrollment Services, Recruitment, and Raptor Central.

In 2005, Mr. Peanort began his career at Montgomery College as an Assistant Professor and Counselor on the Rockville Campus. During his tenure at the College, he served in many facets of the Rockville Campus Counseling Department to include the coordinator of the First-Year Experience (FYE) Program, Co-Coordinator of Advising, Assistant and Acting Department Chair, and most recently an Associate Professor, Counselor and Coordinator of Part-time Counseling Faculty. Mr. Peanort has also served on a wide range of campus-based and collegewide committees and projects.

Preceding his employment at Montgomery College, Mr. Peanort worked as an Undergraduate Academic Advisor in the College of Education at the University of Maryland, College Park. He also served as a College Counselor for College Summit and a Volunteer College Advisor at the Greater Washington College Information Center both in Washington, DC. Mr. Peanort has also been a part-time faculty member at Frederick Community College in Frederick, MD, teaching a Human Services course within the Social Sciences Department.

Mr. Peanort earned a master’s degree, with a concentration in counseling and personnel services, from the University of Maryland and a bachelor’s degree, with a concentration in human services counseling, from Old Dominion University (Virginia). Currently, he is working on his doctorate, with a concentration in community college leadership, at Old Dominion University.
