Ms. Katie Mount
Ms. Katie Mount is the acting associate dean of Germantown Student Affairs. In this
role, Ms. Mount has the primary responsibility of serving as the chair of the Germantown
Campus Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) and assisting with the enforcement of the
Student Code of Conduct. In addition, Ms. Mount provides support to the Student Affairs
departments at the Germantown Campus and assists the interim collegewide dean of Student
Access and Germantown Student Affairs with projects related to the Assessment and
Testing Centers, Germantown Counseling and Advising, Raptor Central, Records and Registration,
and Recruitment.
Ms. Mount began her career at Montgomery College August 2008 as a counselor and assistant
professor. She has provided new student advising, career and transferring counseling,
and taught First Year Seminar and Success Group courses. Ms. Mount worked in depth
with at-risk-students and disruptive students, investigating and responding to student
and faculty concerns. She assisted and referred students in crisis to community resources
and served on the BIT team. Since 2016, Ms. Mount has served as the Counseling and
Advising department chair at the Germantown Campus. In addition, Ms. Mount has participated
in numerous campus and collegewide committees, volunteered at Mobile Markets and Smart
Sacks, and graduated from MC Management training.
Ms. Mount has a master’s degree from the University of Maryland Global Campus Europe
(previously University of Maryland College Park Europe – Heidelberg, Germany) and
a bachelor’s degree from Elon University in North Carolina.
