Experiencing high school as a black teen can be rough. Prejudices and stereotypes follow you like dark clouds overhead. When I entered the 9th grade, I found that the racism I thought I knew had completely evolved. In this new environment, I was constantly pressured to choose between instinct and indifference…Maybe, sometimes, conformity is actually an act of resilience.
