Your account will be active for email and registration after you go through the set-up process in our College portal, MyMC. To register for classes, you will need to set up your MyMC portal account. This is the portal through which students register for classes, drop classes, pay for classes, engage in the financial aid process and access grades. To access the MyMC portal click on the blue 'Access MyMC' tab at the top right corner of the Montgomery College homepage www.montgomerycollege.edu or type MyMC in the search function.

Next Steps

  • Apply for financial aid if needed.
  • Take an Accuplacer placement test to determine your reading, English and math skills. Students may be exempt from taking the ACCUPLACER by providing minimum qualifying SAT or ACT scores in English and/or math.
  • Complete a Montgomery Academic Orientation Program
  • Complete the New Student orientation either in person or online
  • You will also need to complete the Advising Questionnaire available at My MC. From your MyMC home page scroll down to Student Checklists and choose Schedule an Advising Appointment under New Students. Your responses will be used to shape your path to completion and support success at Montgomery College and is required before you will be eligible to register for courses.
  • Schedule an appointment through My MC/Starfish to meet with a counselor.
  • Register for classes.
  • Pay tuition and fees which are due upon registration.
