Original founding members Jerry Martini and Greg Errico are joined by the powerful voices of Phunne Stone, the multi-talented daughter of Sly Stone and the late great Cynthia Robinson, and Alex Davis to bring the chart topping hits of Sly & The Family Stone to the Parilla Performing Arts Center. Big Guns of Funk like Nate Wingfield on guitar, Jimmy McKinney on keys, and Musical Director Blaise Sison on bass are adding the proper pocket to the raw Family Stone sound. Sampled and covered by major artists around the world, the Family Stone’s influence is immeasurable, having shaped artist such as Prince, Michael Jackson, Miles Davis, Run DMC, NWA, Maroon 5, Steven Tyler, and countless other artists. Their album STAND was declared a National Treasure in 2015 and preserved in The United States Library of Congress. That same year, STAND was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. With legendary anthems like “I Want to Take You Higher,” “Everyday People,” “Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin,” “Dance to the Music,” “Hot Fun in the Summertime,” “Family Affair,” and many others in their vast catalog, the Family Stone keeps true to the legacy of its original sound and raw funk groove.
